Kiyoo Shimada, President and Chief Executive Officer, Kodak Polychrome Graphics Japan

Kiyoo Shimada, Ph.D., brings international experience and superior technical and marketing skills to Kodak Polychrome Graphics (KPG) customers in Japan. In addition to Dr. Shimada's responsibilities as President and Chief Executive Officer of the graphic arts business in Japan, he is also an officer and Representative Director of KPG's Japan subsidiary (KPG Japan) and a member of KPG's Leadership Team.

Prior to joining Kodak Polychrome Graphics, Dr. Shimada served as President of MEMC Japan Ltd., a leading worldwide provider of silicon wafers for the semiconductor industry, and as Corporate Vice President of its parent company, MEMC Electronic Materials Company, Inc. He joined MEMC Japan in 1981 and quickly rose through the company, holding positions of increasing responsibility including Plant Manager and Director, Director Product Marketing, Executive Vice President and Representative Director and Corporate Vice President and President, Japan.

Dr. Shimada holds a Ph.D. in Chemistry from Syracuse University, Syracuse, New York and a B.S. degree in Polymer Chemistry from Kyoto University in Kyoto, Japan. He also spent two years in a postdoctoral research program at the Polymer Research Center of New York State University.
