DIGITAL BUSINESS IS STRONG FOR KODAK POLYCHROME GRAPHICS
KPG Shows First NexPress at Graphintro, Barcelona
Antony, France 28 March 2005: Having announced industry partnerships with Canon, NexPress, Encad and ExaNet, Kodak Polychrome Graphics (KPG) is enjoying the success of its new digital solutions offering, which is making a strong contribution to its European business. With these digital partnerships in place - and supported by a range of its own solutions and services - KPG is providing the graphic arts industry with a portfolio of ‘best of breed’ products that support the growing needs of the dynamic digital marketplace. Further demonstrating its commitment in this area, KPG used Graphintro in Barcelona earlier this month to showcase its complete range of digital products, solutions and services and for the first time in Europe, KPG provided live demonstrations of Kodak’s NexPress 2100 digital press.
KPG’s Digital Solutions Division provides a combination of world-leading products and industry-leading technical consultancy and support. Its product portfolio includes: Kodak’s NexPress 2100 digital press and Digimaster products, Canon’s range of CLC printers – 1180, 3220 and 5100 - for short run and variable data applications and Encad’s NovaJet 1000i for high-speed production and brilliant photo-quality output. These partner products are supported by KPG’s Matchprint Virtual Proofing System, RealTimeProof, ExaStore and KPG’s DirectWorks integrated and automated workflow solution.
Ronald Van Hees, business development manager, short run colour solutions at KPG, Europe comments: “KPG has spent the last year cultivating strong relationships and building a total solutions product portfolio for the graphic arts community. With the launch of NexPress, Canon and Encad distribution agreements in Europe, KPG has become one of the strongest players in the graphic arts’ digital marketplace. The Graphintro trade show provided a fundamental platform to showcase our complete range of products, solutions and services and the uptake and feedback from visitors and customers has been immense. We are already experiencing positive sales activity across Europe for NexPress and Canon products and we’re looking forward to continued partnerships and further success throughout the rest of 2005.”
Sandra Tayama, responsible for New Business and Marketing at KPG, Spain adds: “Graphintro was a very important starting point for KPG’s digital business in Iberia, and has set precedence for the rest of Europe to follow. All of our efforts at the show were focussed on our digital solutions and our customers were excited by our news. The value of the digital business to KPG is huge and has enabled us to offer services from pre-press through to press – input through to output – and the growing recognition and reception from the market to our offering is more than encouraging.”
During Graphintro, KPG also showed a range of plates and plate processors. KPG’s VioletNews, the company’s first violet printing plate for the newspaper sector was also revealed to the Iberian market for the first time.
