MCGURK STUDIOS BOASTS FIRST UK INSTALLATION OF KPG KODAK APPROVAL NX DIGITAL PROOFING SYSTEM
It's About Confidence in Proofing!
Watford, UK 21st January 2005 A firm supporter of Kodak Polychrome Graphics' (KPG) products and solutions, artwork and reprographics company, McGurk Studios is the first UK organisation to commission KPG's next generation digital halftone proofing system - the Kodak Approval NX Digital Proofing System. This installation follows McGurk Studios' earlier investment in KPG's revolutionary RealTimeProof solution for web-based, high-resolution collaborative proofing and approval management. Combined, these state-of-the-art proofing solutions enable McGurk Studios to offer its customers the latest digital proofs that capture and stimulate production processes with press-predicted results, as well as significantly reducing job turn around times.
The Kodak Approval NX Digital Proofing System will help McGurk Studios achieve brand consistency across complex designs, colours, processes and substrates, with accurate results. In addition, press consistency can be guaranteed by the Kodak Approval NX Digital Proofing System through accurate colour density and dot gain. The machine produces contract quality packaging and commercial proofs so precise, they can match the quality of output from a press.
Commenting on McGurk Studios recent purchase, Jon McCarthy, managing director says: "This investment will totally revolutionise the digital proofing services available at McGurk Studios by enabling our clients to view visuals that truly represent how the printed job will appear."
Mr. McCarthy also feels the company's customers will gain ultimate confidence in digital colour proofing once they have witnessed just what the Kodak Approval NX Digital Proofing System is capable of. He adds: "We were particularly impressed with the speed and accuracy of the machine at matching special colours and illustrations. Our investment will also help us improve internal workflow systems, whilst maintaining a high level of service and quality standards."
KPG's Kodak Approval NX Digital Proofing System incorporates Rapid Recipe Colour technology, which lifts productivity to new heights. It generates a vast number of spot, speciality and metallic colours, making it ideally suited to the specific demands of corporate and brand identity work. It captures and demonstrates the exact appearance of the final printed package because it can image onto a variety of different substrates such as paper, card, plastics, shrink film and metalics. Substrate thickness can vary considerably without affecting speed or quality, achieving consistent and reproducible results. The Kodak Approval NX Digital Proofing System also supports high brilliance, fluorescent coloured inks using dry, laser-imaged fluorescent donor materials. And with a throughput of up to 24 A4 proofs per hour, the system is a perfect choice for thermal digital halftone colour proofing among packaging converters and commercial printers.
David Croft, product marketing manager, colour proofing at KPG concludes: "We are delighted to announce McGurk Studios as the first UK installation of our flagship Kodak Approval NX Digital Proofing System. The machine is extremely sophisticated and enables creative agencies, packaging converters and print specifiers to produce high-quality and realistic proofs/packaging mock-ups, easily, quickly and cost-effectively. We are looking forward to continued interest in this next generation product."
