Workflow and Asset Management

With the acquisition of Imation Colour Technologies, Kodak Polychrome Graphics (KPG) is able to provide its customers with an even greater choice of digital workflow and storage solutions. These products are critical in today's digital market where file integrity and efficient and productive processes can determine business success or failure.

MatchFlow
MatchFlow from KPG is a set of products to assist customers migrating towards multi-media. It comprises Telescope Workgroup asset management software, KPG Composer RIP and file converter software and ExpressWeb for the easy transmission of large files through a secure Internet connection.

At IPEX KPG is demonstrating Telescope Workgroup version 7.0, a digital asset management system enabling users to collaborate, manage and distribute their digital assets. The storage of assets in video, audio, graphical or text form maintains brand consistency, increases productivity and gives users the ability to extend service offerings and generate new revenues.

KPG Composer RIP and universal file converter is a digital front end application that offers a complete pre-press production flow, bridging the gap between a variety of pre-press file formats and output devices. KPG Composer converts the pre-press file and outputs in high resolution to all PostScript devices including high resolution imagesetters, colour proofers and CtP systems.

File integrity is maintained with the ROOM (Rip Once Output Many) configuration, and the incorporation of the KPG Colour Fidelity Module (CFM) makes it possible to apply an ICC profile to each format.

KPG Composer has the ability to save time by using multiple file conversion facilities and to generate additional income when integrated into an existing pre-press workflow. It enables users to process all work that has previously been refused or subcontracted.

Colour Management Solutions
Software solutions enhancing KPG's already well established colour proofing portfolio are Verifi, web colour management and KPG's Colour Fidelity Module (CFM), which is incorporated into the Matchprint Digital Halftone and InkJet proofing systems and KPG Composer.

KPG Verifi Accurate Web Colour is a server-based software system that adjusts image colour so that an accurate and consistent image is seen over the web. This is particularly beneficial to companies with Internet shopping sites and its customers. By clicking on the Verifi icon and carrying out the calibration process, end users can be assured that the colour that appears on the screen is a true representation of the actual product.

Matchprint Professional Server
The Matchprint Professional Server has recently been enhanced with the introduction of version 2.0 software, which adds further support for the Xerox DocuColor 12 LP Printer. On show on the KPG, Xerox and Litho Supplies stands, the output speed and flexibility of the Matchprint Professional Server together with the Xerox DocuColor 12 is a must see for users who require high quality proofs and prints.
