KPG SIMPLIFIES DATA STORAGE WITH EXANET EXASTORE SCALABLE STORAGE CLUSTER
New business solution from KPG helps customers manage exploding data growth
Chicago, Illinois, USA - Kodak Polychrome Graphics (KPG) is helping printers and pre-media companies simplify the complex task of data storage. KPG announced at Graph Expo 2003 that it reached an agreement with Exanet for worldwide distribution in the graphic arts market of the Exanet ExaStore Scalable Storage Cluster.
"Printers and pre-media companies want to focus on growing their businesses and capturing opportunities for new revenue," said Jeff Jacobson, Chief Executive Officer, KPG. "In today's digital world, our customers are dealing with the escalating needs of data storage, but that needn't limit their growth. The ExaStore system is the next wave of information technology that helps improve efficiency, allowing customers to focus their attention on growth."
The ExaStore system complements existing server equipment, allowing printers and prepress shops to consolidate their data storage into a single easily upgradeable and easily managed system. Exanet provides for virtually unlimited capacity and bandwidth, file server consolidation, and streamlined management.
"Digital content demands are exploding for printers and pre-media companies of all sizes," said Dr. Giora Yaron, Chairman and CEO, Exanet. "They are facing difficult decisions about replacing their current storage systems or adding more systems. They're confronting total cost of ownership issues while continuously having to increase data storage capacity and bandwidth, while maintaining zero system down time. The ExaStore system, which is based on a "no single point of failure" architecture running on industry-standard off-the-shelf hardware, has proven to solve all of those problems while improving productivity and reducing costs."
"Exanet serves a very significant market need as the first digital storage products tailored specifically for the graphic arts industry," Yaron said. "KPG's worldwide presence will accelerate the penetration rate of Exanet's products to the graphic arts industry, enabling more and more customers to enjoy the cost performance benefits offered by Exanet products."
