EIGHT MONTH SEARCH LEADS ROSS PRINTING TO NEW KPG DIRECT IMAGING PRESS

Level of service, depth of financing choices cited by customer in purchase of KPG DirectPress 5034 DI system

Chicago, Illinois, USA - Looking to meet strong customer demand for short-run, high-quality, four-color printing, Ross Printing Company in Cleveland, Ohio, earlier this month installed the new direct imaging press from Kodak Polychrome Graphics (KPG).

Charles Kim, Vice President of Finance and New Business Development at Ross Printing, lead an eight-month search that ended in the purchase of the Kodak Polychrome Graphics DirectPress 5034 DI system. He credits a combination of proven technology, reliable service and flexible financing plans with closing the sale.

"The landscape of the printing industry has changed with more and more consumers demanding offset quality at digital printing quantities and turnaround," said Kim. "The KPG DirectPress allows us to meet and exceed today's new model of print procurement. The choice of KPG was a natural one because they were willing to work with our small, family-owned business. Partnering with KPG gave us access to a national service network and financing capabilities that are usually only available to large commercial print shops."

The KPG DirectPress 5034 DI system brings together the quality advantages of offset printing with the workflow and automation benefits of digital printing. This combination presents new growth opportunities for commercial printers, trade shops, or digital service bureaus that want to tap into the growing demand for high-quality, quick-turnaround, short-run, four-color work. The installation at Ross Printing is KPG's first for its recently launched direct imaging press.

"By bringing the KPG DirectPress into its workflow, Ross Printing gains a powerful tool to grow their business with," said John Schloff, KPG Worldwide Staff Vice President. "Now, Ross Printing can generate new revenue streams, lower production costs and separate itself from the competition, all by recognizing the opportunities of the short-run, four-color printing market."
