SALES OF 12 NEWSETTER SYSTEMS HIGHLIGHT KPG'S SUCCESS AT NEXPO 2004
Norwalk, Connecticut, USA - The Anitec Newspaper Division of Kodak Polychrome Graphics (KPG) reports a successful Nexpo 2004, including the sales of 12 units of its thermal computer-to-plate (CtP) solution, the Kodak Polychrome Graphics Newsetter system.
The Newsetter system provides a comprehensive newspaper solution from input through to the pressroom. Its flexible, modular design means that several components can be configured into a semi- or fully-automated system for newspapers of all sizes and formats.
ThermalNews plates bring the benefits of KPG's thermal CtP to newspaper printing. Precise reproduction of high resolution, first generation thermal dots, with no dot gain at plate level, provides outstanding quality output and run lengths of 350,000 without postbaking. And, faster makeready and plate reliability give newspapers extra editorial time.
Also at Nexpo, KPG saw steady interest in the Kodak Polychrome Graphics Color Fidelity System. The groundbreaking Color Fidelity System enables customers to easily automate critical color management operations from capture to output and benefit from efficiency-based cost savings and higher image quality. Ideal for graphic arts professionals, such as photographers, designers, publishers, premedia houses and printers who need to capture, view, and reproduce accurate high quality color for print, the Color Fidelity System works with most popular graphic arts software and provides a consistent method for the proofing and communication of both RGB and CMYK. The Color Fidelity System enables the conversion of images and pages using preset settings for printing, (e.g., SWOP to SNAP).
"As the numbers of color ads and newspapers taking on commercial printing work continue to grow, we see that customer satisfaction is increasingly dependent on color quality and solutions that meet demanding deadlines," said Rick Mazur, Vice President of Marketing, United States and Canada, KPG. "Based on our Anitec division's strong relationships in the newspaper industry, KPG develops and adapts technology that meets newspapers' requirements for speed, color and reliability."
For newspapers taking on more commercial business, KPG also demonstrated the ExaStore scalable storage solution, which allows newspapers to easily access stored files and automatically manage data storage requirements. The ExaStore software is integrated with an industry standard hardware solution that enables users to consolidate disparate storage solutions. The ExaStore System substantially lowers the cost of entry to storage systems. It also comes with a simple upgrade option allowing the storage solution to grow with the customer's business.
