KPG OPTIMIZES DIGITAL WORKFLOWS AT ON DEMAND

New York, New York, USA - Making its first appearance at an ON DEMAND Conference and Exhibition in New York City, Kodak Polychrome Graphics (KPG) showcases two digital solutions for helping customers meet growing demand for high-quality, short-run, color printing.

Visitors to booth 3046 will learn how the KPG DirectPress 5034 DI system can open up new revenue streams, lower production costs and speed-up turnaround times. KPG will also demonstrate the color and productivity capabilities of the Matchprint Inkjet Proofing System 5542.

"KPG is a digital solutions provider committed to finding new opportunities for our customers that grow their business," said Andrew Copley, President, US&C, KPG. "It's important that we continue to help customers maximize their digital experience by offering products that emphasize speed and quality."

The KPG DirectPress 5034 DI system, a two-page, four-color digital imaging press, combines the quality advantages of offset printing with the workflow and automation benefits of digital printing. This combination presents a new growth opportunity for commercial printers, in-plants, trade shops, or digital service bureaus that want to tap into the growing demand for high-quality, quick-turnaround, short-run, four-color work.

For commercial printers or trade shops looking to add fast, high-quality color proofing and wide format, short-run color printing capability to their workflows, the Matchprint Inkjet Proofing System 5542 delivers their needs in a single solution. With a 1200 x 600 dpi, six-color printing system, the units can proof a four-page job, or print a poster-sized piece in less than eight minutes. The system comes with a high-speed internal print server card for simple networking and includes new web access allowing remote printer management.

For optimum color quality and consistency, the Matchprint Inkjet Proofing System 5542 features an internal self-color calibration process and color layering technology that offers a wide color gamut and smooth color transitions. Designed for unattended operation, the proofer also has an integrated heater to ensure reliable image quality in high-production mode. The 5542 comes with the Matchprint Color RIP, Matchprint Inkjet Media and Matchprint Inkjet Ink.

Using the Matchprint Color RIP, the 5542 is compatible with the following file formats: EPS (with preview and offset), PDF (separated and composite), PDF/X, PDF/X3, RGB TIFF, CMYK TIFF, TIFF-IT, Scitex CT/LW, DCS, DCS2, Delta List and JPEG.
