KODAK LAUNCHES SPECIALIZED MANAGEMENT INFORMATION SYSTEM FOR PRINT PROVIDERS

KODAK Enterprise Management Solution software provides ERP/CRM functionality designed for the unique business workflow of print providers

Rochester, NY, August 1, 2005 - Eastman Kodak Company’s Graphic Communications Group (GCG) announced today that it will demonstrate a complete business workflow solution for the graphic communications industry at Print 05, North America’s largest trade show for printing and graphic communications.

KODAK Enterprise Management Solution (EMS) software provides a level of functionality that extends beyond traditional print MIS. Developed by Creo, a subsidiary of Kodak, this solution is designed to allow printers to seamlessly integrate print and business workflow to dramatically increase business efficiency and boost profitability.

At the core of KODAK EMS software is a robust manufacturing enterprise resource planning software (ERP) solution. By customizing this solution for the graphic communications industry and incorporating original development, KODAK EMS software is designed to meet the unique needs of the print industry. Its highly scalable design can be utilized by as few as five users or across many plants by hundreds of users.

The result is a solution that provides advanced tools for proactively managing business processes throughout the different stages of production, designed for printers whose businesses extend beyond traditional offset printing operations. KODAK EMS software offers capabilities to deal with complex environments that include digital print workflows, fulfillment and mailing operations, among many other functions.

The core modules of KODAK EMS software address core business operations needs such as sales force automation, quoting and estimating, job management, purchasing, production planning and scheduling, and financial capabilities. Additional components can be added to the base configuration, including fully integrated customer relationship management (CRM), quality assurance, supplier relationship management, lean manufacturing processes, customer and supplier Web portals, and business intelligence capabilities.

In addition, integration with PREPS imposition software and the SYNAPSE UPFRONT job planning tool allows highly detailed estimating and planning of print jobs to drive production processes. KODAK Enterprise Management Solution software will also integrate with other third-party production and business solutions.
