By doing away with preheating and postbaking, SWORD EXCEL thermal plates cut processing times and allow you to use smaller processors, which consume less energy and are simple and easy to maintain. Even without postbaking, these plates are tough, and the new SWORD EXCEL plate is even tougher, delivering run lengths of up to 500,000 impressions.

Resolution	1% to 99% at 200 LPI @ 2,400 DPI tested; 20-micron stochastic screening
Processing	Negative-type developer.
Developer	Kodak Polychrome Graphics 956 Developer. This is the only developer certified for use with SWORD EXCEL thermal plates. No developer mixing or distilled water required.
Developer pH	Kodak Polychrome Graphics 956 Developer has a pH of less than 10. It is over 1000 times less caustic than most developers used to process thermal CtP plates.
Developer Replenishment	Replenish with Kodak Polychrome Graphics 956 Developer at a rate of 2 ml/ft2 for AM screening applications. Up to 20 ml/ft2for 20-micron and smaller stochastic screening applications.
Plate Intermix	Besides SWORD EXCEL thermal plates, a 10% intermix of Winner (presensitized negative working subtractive plates) may be processed in the SWORD Plate Processor with Kodak Polychrome Graphics 956 Developer.
Finisher	May be finished with Kodak Polychrome Graphics 850S Finisher
Run length	Up to 500,000 impressions, depending on press and paper conditions. UV ink compatible.
On Press	Good compatibility with UV and EB ink solvents.
Packaging	Available in regular plate packages and bulk packaging.
